Financial Support Information

Thank you so much for your interest in supporting the work we are participating in. As you may have read, while we are not required to raise support for our day to day living expenses we are trying to raise funds to help cover our relocation costs. Upon arrival in Botswana, we need to completely furnish an apartment including appliances as apartments there do not come with appliances included. Additionally, we will need to purchase a vehicle. We are hoping to get by with a motorcycle in the short term but eventually something more substantial is going to be required. It is generally accepted that unless you plan on existing entirely within the city limits of Gaborone, a 4x4 is a necessity. Flying Mission, the organization we will be working for, has estimated that these costs will be in the range of $15-20,000.

There are two options for sending money through the Christian Stewardship Foundation, a funnel that collects money and forwards it on to us. CSF has been around for almost 20 years and was originally set up to funnel funds to medical missionaries. They have recently opened up to other types of missionaries, like us. Once funds are donated to CSF, those funds will be disbursed to Flying Mission in Botswana, who will direct that money towards our needs. They will also issue a tax receipt for you. For the sake of transparency, CSF does take a 3-5% administrative fee off the top.

For donations by check through CSF:

1. Write out a check to the “Christian Stewardship Foundation”
2. Stick a post-it note to the check noting that you are donating to the Bells in Botswana. They recommend against putting this information in the memo line of the check.
3. Send both check and note to:

2. Make sure to send a separate accompanying email to the same address letting Ms. Zivney know that you are donating to the Bells in Botswana.
