P napping at a scaven-brunch- We planned a scaven-brunch for some friends in January (a pseudo-scavenger hunt with clues and a challenge that ended at a brunch we prepared in the bush.) -
Our thank-you present for planning the scaven-brunch.At the beginning of February (8.5 months old) Jon needed to change the front brake pads on our car. After three trips to the autoparts store, Jon managed to come home with the correct set. Prescott loved getting to play in the sand and hand his dad tools.

A great team
Lovin' his oatmeal at 8.5 months
Going through the cupboards - nine months -Recently Prescott has warmed up to the kids who share our yard. At four the sun is a little less intense so everyone migrates outside. They are so devoted to Masimo as they carry him around, make sure he doesn't eat dirt, and find him smooth sticks to play with. None of the kids are older than 8; this would worry me in the US but the kids here are used to raising other kids and probably know more about babies and toddlers than I do.
I love seeing this view from my living room windowSaturday was a beautiful fall day and Jon fixed up the shade netting on our garden so that we can ready our beds again. Our friend, Ernest, came to assist Jon and was a huge help.
Prescott mesmerized by the guys pounding in gum poles
Happy boy
Inspecting the peppers to be canned
P watching as Ernest and Jon size the gum poles
The finished productThe past week has been a difficult one for Prescott. Last Thursday he had a fever and started waking up every two hours at night again. After a couple days his fifth tooth made an appearance. Just as we were recovering from teething, we took him in for an immunization and he spent another two days with a fever and a sore leg that left him howling whenever it was touched. Hopefully we are off to a happier week.
